Saint Andrew Apostle School Advisory Board will host the 9th Annual Golf Outing for the benefit of The Phyllis Kritzer Schultz Professional Development Fund. The event will be held at the Hampshire Greens Golf Club, Silver Spring, MD on Friday, October 5, 2007. Please show your support in one or more of the following ways:

Support of our Golf Outing, all proceeds of which directly benefit our faculty, is greatly appreciated. We look forward to seeing you on the course.

Purpose of School Board

The St. Andrew Apostle Parish School Advisory Board assists the school and the parish in carrying out the school's mission statement. St. Andrew Apostle School is dedicated to educating the whole child in partnership with parents and the parish community. Our faculty and staff provide students opportunities to develop their full potential in a nurturing environment. St. Andrew Apostle School enables students to appreciate human dignity and diversity, celebrating the example of Jesus.

The School Advisory Board provides advice, counsel, and assistance to the pastor and principal on all matters relating to the governance of the school. The School Advisory Board welcomes suggestions from the St. Andrew's community at any time.

Priorities for 2007-08

Communications - To improve communications among all parties, including the Pastor, Principal, Faculty, Parents, Children and the Parish Community.
Marketing and Public Relations - To provide information to those outside the St. Andrews community about the great opportunities for St. Andrew's school children. To ensure that parents and guardians know that we are now the recipients of the NCLB Blue Ribbon Award of Academic Excellence.
Finance and Endowment - To ensure fiscal health of the school through strategic planning.
Development and Alumni Relations - To enhance the relationship between current and past St. Andrew school community members as we prepare for the Parish and School 50th celebration in 2009-10.

School Advisory Board Members

The Board is comprised of the pastor, principal, assistant principal, parents/guardians of children in the school and/or parishioners, and one faculty member. Parent/guardian/parishioner members are appointed for a term of three years. The faculty member is appointed annually. The Director of Religious Education, President of the Parents Association, and the previous Advisory Board Chair serve as advisors to the Board. School Board Meeting Calendar

This calendar was last updated on Monday, September 24, 2007. School Board meetings are held at 7:00 PM on the first Thursday of each month. The meetings are held in the basement of the Rectory. Please note the October 4 meeting is NOT an open meeting.
