Summer 2010 Required Reading

GRADE SIX, SUMMER 2010 REQUIRED READING

Students entering sixth grade will read three books this summer, TUCK EVERLASTING, which is the book required of all students, and two additonal books of your choice. Notecards are to be completed, according to the instructions given below, on each of the three books read. Also, please be prepared to discuss all three books on your return to school and to be tested on the one required book.

Students: Please follow these directions for each of the books that you read! On the front of a note card, write:

On the back of the note card, list three quotes that caught your attention as you read. These quotes should be copied, using quotation marks, and cited with a (page number). Additional note cards are acceptable.

The completed note cards are due upon returning to school in September 2010. Students will be tested on the one required book after class discussion and review. Be prepared also to discuss the other titles you select to read.
