St. Andrew Apostle
"Suffer the little children unto me"
I have no idea how to plan a liturgy. How could I possibly help with Children's Liturgies:
These seem like very basic skills, but, you see, liturgy is a very basic thing. It comes from the people of God. We have had some people stay away from planning because they feel they don't know enough about Mass or the church or they're a convert or their child is in public school. These are all good reasons to get involved.
Come to a meeting once every couple of months. Share ideas, accept an assignment (such as telephoning children to do readings, finding a family to write and read the prayers of the faithful, arriving early to find children to pass out programs). Do you know a church song your kids love, and you've never heard it at St. Andrew's? Bring it, and let's see if it fits into our theme. Seen something done at another church that's great for kids? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
This is a very low key group. It is tremendously rewarding, vital to our worship at St. Andrew's and not a time intensive ministry.
