St. Andrew Apostle
Health Ministry
Mission of St. Andrew's Health Ministry
The Health Ministry of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish works with the Health Care
Community and Parish Organizations to promote the Church's role as a healing
community. It includes spiritual, physical, emotional and psychological
aspects of health.
Membership is open to all. A medical background or degree is not needed to be
a member.
Meetings are generally held every other month from September through May at
7:30 pm in the Rectory basement. Dates and times are published in the bulletin
and are on the Parish Calendar.
Projects and Activities
-

on this and we are now one of the first churches to have one on the premises.
The AED is located by the Church doors near the circle by All Purpose Room.
-
CPR/AED classes

Check Blood Pressures after the Masses on Community Sunday from September
through June.
-
Blood Drives

Provide pamphlets about health topics.
-
Ministry to the Sick/Visitor Program - visitors go to nursing
homes and to individual homes. A small group now visits the Group Home next to
the church. We sponsor sharing sessions/workshops for the Visitors.

-
Sponsor Presentations on Health Issues - We have had talks on Depression,
Forgiveness, Lyme Disease, and End of Life Issues.

children when they come in for their check-ups and they give baby equipment to
families in need.

Provide First Aid Booth at parish activities.
-
