Note to Lectors

I hope the summer was one of fun and relaxation. I know I find myself renewed and ready to take on the new year.

Welcome to our new lector Leslie Boss, who will begin on October 18th. She is new to our parish, and is an experienced lector. I’ll get her contact information to you soon. Welcome back to Steve and Desi Balla! You have been missed, and we are delighted to have you back in the fold.

8:30 lector Barbara Halladay has moved from the parish to housing near Sibley Hospital. She has been such a blessing to our parish in so many ways. I will miss her well-prepared and faith-filled proclamation of God’s word. Please keep her and her husband Bob in your prayers.

I do also send this schedule out by e-mail. If you haven’t received it, that means I don’t have your e-mail address. If you’d like to receive the schedule by e-mail, please send me a request.

Just a couple of reminders:

• If there is no deacon and you are processing the Book of Gospels, please do not bow with the book when you get to the altar. Go immediately to the altar and place it there, come back to the front step and then bow.
• Please make sure to close the lectionary and put on the second shelf of the pulpit after the second reading (so priest/deacon can put the Book of Gospels on the top)
• Please remember to take a look at the prayers of the faithful before Mass, in case there is no deacon. Also note if there are any announcements.
• Please remember to come up during the Prayer after Communion to prepare to read the announcements (some of you make me very nervous). The announcements are read after the Prayer after Communion.
